The accused demanded Rs 5 lakh from her to delete the MMS and not upload it online, police said. The victim claimed that the accused, Naresh Kumar, had come to meet her in February when her family members including her husband had gone to attend a marriage ceremony.
Kumar then gave her a soft drink which he had laced with sedatives. The victim fell unconscious after having the drink and was allegedly raped. Kumar had fled the house till the time she gained consciousness.
The woman said that she was scared to tell about the incident to anyone. Kumar kept calling her and also sent lewd messages to her. He threatened her with the video clip that he had made that night and asked her to develop physical relation with her, she said.
Kumar visited the victim’s house in July and raped her again. When the victim asked for the video clip, Kumar demanded Rs 5 lakh in return. “A few days later, the accused sent a courier to her house which contained a memory card full of the victim’s MMS and pictures,” said a police officer.
The victim finally broke down and narrated the incident to her husband who got an FIR registered at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station. The accused has gone underground and raids are being conducted to nab him, police said.
